Compute demand is growing faster than terrestrial infrastructure can keep up. Grid connections take years, suitable land is scarce, and cooling costs keep rising. The constraint is no longer the chips. It's where, and on what, they can run.
The answer increasingly sits outside today's model: new power generation, data centres in orbit and offshore, and the high-capacity links needed to move data between them and the systems on the ground that depend on it.
Whoever builds this layer will be selling to some of the most demanding buyers in the world: AI compute operators, hyperscalers and financial institutions. They buy slowly and test everything. Founders who win them early build companies that are very hard to displace.
